    As a new parent, you’ll need all of the help that you can get. Many parents will start their journey thinking they can do it themselves, but they soon the same lesson that every parent learns; it takes a village. Unfortunately, things are only getting more expensive, including resources for parents. 

    So, as a new parent, where can you get the help that you need without breaking the bank? Keep reading to find out.

    Your little one will need plenty of entertainment. You’ll learn as you spend time with your child that few things will keep their attention for long. Therefore, you’ll need plenty of tools in your arsenal. For starters, having plenty of toys can help. You don’t need to spend a fortune on the hottest toys on the market though. In fact, simply contacting any other parents you know can help you to get some great toys that your child will love. 

    Next, you need to think about things like cartoons. Don’t worry, you don’t need to sign up for every streaming service out there. You can actually find some great free kid’s cartoons online that will entertain your children without breaking the bank. A bit of creativity can help you to find ways to keep your new baby happy and laughing without spending too much money.

    Child care is one of the trickiest things that you will need to figure out as a new parent. The problem, it isn’t easy to accept that you don’t have all the answers. The thing is though, that no parent has all the answers. This is why one of the most commonly used sayings about parenting is that “it takes a village”. It’s not easy raising a child, especially when it’s your first time. 

    Luckily, there are countless free resources out there to help you along the way. For starters, there are countless blogs, websites, podcasts, and videos online dedicated to helping new parents. Many of these will be free, so you won’t need to pay for this valuable knowledge. 

    Another free resource is local parenting groups. These are often geared toward new mothers, but there are groups out there for new fathers too. A simple search online will help you to find and connect with these groups. Keep in mind that many of these groups may meet digitally via social media, so don’t forget to check these channels. These groups will help you to meet other new parents, answer questions, make friends, and organise play dates. 

    Finally, don’t be afraid to lean on your family and friends. If they offer to babysit, take them up on this offer. Every moment to yourself is priceless as a new parent. If they offer to pick the kids up, make some food, or even some advice, accept it with a smile. Remember, it takes a village.
